DEVOTED COMPANION

A naming ceremony gift for my young nephew. Having been boisterously played with, I am assured this has machine-washed magnificently. Terrific news.

PLAYFULLY PETITE

Scarlett Rabbit, custom ordered for Christmas. This is a miniature version of the Blythe Rabbit, measuring approx. 25cm high. Really pleasing in this smaller size but took just as long to make as her larger predecessor. Again I took the scissors to another of my younger sister's old dresses (don't tell my mum) for Scarlett's front and tail.

MAKING A MONKEY

Danny Monkey, a Christmas order for a two-year old boy. Not a pusher of blue-is-for-boys, I opted for red, white and blue as a classic combination that will sit smartly in any bedroom or playroom, or even atop a kitchen dresser. The idea is that the child will never outgrow the gift. Master Monkey's tail is stuffed in such a way that it keeps its shape, whilst the arms and legs wave freely.

Nell Rabbit, a birthday order for a two-year old, measuring approx. 60cm high including the ears. I’ve used Liberty prints; current and really quite old (peacock print was half-inched from the depths of my mum's trunk of enthusiastically-purchased-but-never-used-yardages), vintage Laura Ashley and some other cotton beauties, sourced in France.

Blythe Rabbit, a Christmas order. Measures about 60cm high including the ears. Pinks and greys requested. Tummy and tail made from a childhood dress of mine and my sisters, retrieved from within the wall o’ boxes in my parents garage.
